Our Story

I have always had two tabs open at 2am.

One is my code editor. The other is an anime episode I have already watched three times.

I debug with lo-fi beats playing in the background. I name my variables after characters nobody else in my circle would recognise. I feel the same rush closing a ticket as I do watching a final arc unfold. I am a developer. I am an anime fan. And for a long time, nobody made anything for both sides of who I am.

So I built it myself.

My name is Atul Shaw. I am a developer by profession and a weeb by choice. I started devXanime because I was tired of choosing between my two identities every time I wanted to wear something that felt like me. Every anime merch brand out there felt like it was made for someone else. Every developer merch brand felt the same way. I wanted something that existed exactly at the intersection โ€” and when I realised nobody had built it yet, I stopped waiting.

The idea was simple. What if a t-shirt could speak both languages at once? What if a design could make a developer laugh and an anime fan feel seen at exactly the same moment? Not two separate things stitched together. One thing. A crossover. Like the best anime arcs, and the cleanest code โ€” elegant, intentional, and built to last.

Every design I make follows the same formula. Take a moment from anime that hit different. Express it in the language of code โ€” an error message, a terminal command, a function that never returns. The result is something that only makes complete sense if you live in both worlds. And if you do, you will get it instantly.

devXanime is India's first developer ร— anime merch brand. I built it from scratch โ€” the designs, the store, everything. I print on heavyweight cotton. I ship across the country. And I am just getting started.

If you write code by day and watch anime by night โ€” or you do both at the same time and see absolutely nothing wrong with that โ€” welcome.

You were always who I was building this for. I just finally showed up.
